Rauza Islanova

Rauza Mohamedjhanovna Islanova (born February 8 1948 in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union) is a well known Russian tennis coach.
She is well known as the mother and 1st coach of her two children Marat Safin and Dinara Safina. She was full-time coach of her daughter Dinara until the end of 2003. She still accompanies her during the tournaments frequently.
Also she coached Elena Dementieva, Anastasia Myskina, and Anna Kournikova during the very early years of their tennis career. Since 1976, she has worked at the Spartak Tennis Club.
She was an ex-student of the State university, graduated of the Order of Lenin in the institute of physical culture and later received a degree of master in sports of international class (1976, tennis). During her tennis career, she played for the 'Spartak' club, and reached her highest rank (5th) of USSR in 1968.
